Supreme Court Judges- A Decision For One Man

The president is the person who appoints Supreme Court Judges, many people wonder if this is too much power for the president.  This thought is common mainly because even after the president leaves office, the judges he or she appoints serve till they die or are no longer able to serve.  Does this mean the president has an influence lasting more than eight years? no, i think it meants the president has many influences lasting longe3r than eight years.  Just as presidential policies can be set for expiration after a president's term, a judge can serve for longer.  I feel that this is a great aspect of our government, one idea behind the start of the United States of America is that power could not switch rapidly from one man to the next, that the direction of the country would adapt and change steadily over time- this helps achieve that idea.  By ensuring a high powered offices to people previously chosen by past leaders, people who serve for life, there is a solid security of government present for transitions to be smooth.  I think this is one of the better systems in our government and hopw we never change it.
